Being a caregiver can feel overwhelming. It may help to learn what you’ll need to do. You are not alone. Many transplant centers have free classes to teach you about the role. Ask the transplant team what resources are available for you at the center.

Before transplant

Learn what your responsibilities as a caregiver may be before the transplant and while at the hospital.

After transplant

After your loved one has a blood or marrow transplant, your responsibilities as a caregiver may change. Read how you can help with physical, financial and emotional changes after transplant.

Support

To be an effective caregiver, you will need to take care of yourself so you can care for your loved one. Be The Match® offers one-on-one telephone support to help you manage the emotional and physical stress you may experience.

The Be The Match Patient Support Center provides support, information and resources for transplant patients, caregivers and families.
