Patient and donor safety is our top priority. Our Donor and Patient Safety Monitoring Committee helps ensure we use safe and effective processes and procedures at the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP).
The committee, which is made up of medical directors from NMDP donor, transplant, apheresis and collection centers, a donor and a patient:
- Evaluates the care and outcome of donors before, during and after marrow or blood cell collection
- Evaluates patient outcomes
- Recommends changes in procedures and/or policies as needed
The NMDP also operates Be The Match®.
