Clinical Guidelines for Transplant Consultation & Post-Transplant Care

The Quick Reference Guidelines provide the references physicians need to care for transplant patients from referral to long-term survival. The National Marrow Donor Program^® (NMDP) has developed these guidelines in consultation with several leading transplant organizations.

Referral guidelines

The 2012 NMDP/ASBMT Recommended Timing for Transplant Consultation indicates prognostic factors for patients at risk of disease progression and, therefore, which patients should be evaluated for transplantation. [1]

Long-term survival guidelines

The two-part guide, Recommended Post-Transplant Care, contains:

• Part I: Long-term screening: Includes a checklist of recommended post-transplant screening and preventive practices. [2]
• Part II: Screening for chronic GVHD: Identifies clinical manifestations and patient symptoms of chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). [3]
