Living Now: Staying Healthy After Transplant

This web cast provides an overview of updated post-transplant care guidelines. The guidelines were created to help you understand and prepare for your follow-up care at 6 months, 12 months and 24+ months post transplant. They include an easy-to-understand list of tests and evaluations recommended for each appointment.

This information is presented by Dr. Navneet Majhail who is the Medical Director and Director of Health Services Research with the National Marrow Donor Program and Be The Match in Minneapolis. He is also Assistant Scientific Director with the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research and Adjunct Associate Professor with the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation at the University of Minnesota. Dr Majhail is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology and he specializes in the care of adult patients receiving blood and marrow transplantation. His research focuses on health services and health policy issues in blood and marrow transplantation and quality of life and late effects in transplant survivors.

This information is presented by Richard Boyajian, RN, MS, ANP.  Mr. Boyajian is the Clinical Director of the Adult Survivorship Program at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and a Nurse Practitioner in the LiveStrong Survivorship Clinic.  He was also the recipient of an unrelated bone marrow transplant in 1996 and lives with chronic graft versus host disease as well as other late effects.
