CME ProgramA Clinician's Guide for Diagnosing and Caring for Patients with GVHDOrder CD (No CME credit available) Program DescriptionIncreased use of marrow and cord blood transplantation and improvements in outcomes have led to larger numbers of transplant survivors. Management of post-transplant medical care, including GVHD, is a key factor in improving outcomes for this growing patient population. New approaches to transplant, strategies for earlier detection, and new drug therapies are providing useful tools for managing GVHD.In this program, Dr. Cutler will describe factors that affect the incidence and severity of GVHD. He will also discuss how to identify early symptoms and will explain advances in managing GVHD to improve patient’s quality of life and outcomes. Approaches to developing cooperative care plans between long-term care providers and transplant center teams will also be discussed.
