Bone marrow donor and young recipient to meet on his “rebirthday”

Kristine Goodrich – reporter for the White Bear Lake Press – recently shared the story of a donor and recipient meeting. Caleb Nord – a 3-year-old bone marrow transplant recipient – met Missy Slauter, his 24-year-old marrow donor. Thanks to Missy’s selfless donation, Caleb was able to overcome a rare genetic disorder called familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (FHLH). Caleb and his family met Missy on the second anniversary of his transplant.
