KARE-TV

Twin Cities, MN

Morning anchor Kim Insley interviewed Abdullah Warsame, the father of a 1-year-old boy battling severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), and Minneapolis account executive Kristine Reed.

Abdullah discussed his son Artan’s ongoing battle with SCID and shared his family’s donor recruitment efforts within the Somali community. Kristine highlighted African American Bone Marrow Awareness Month, noting that only 7 percent of the 10 million people listed on the national Be The Match Registry are African American.
