Be The Match was featured in a blog post on the ABC World News website, stemming from Robin Roberts’ myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) diagnosis. ABC World News producer Enjoli Francis interviewed Be The Match CEO Dr. Jeffrey Chell who was quoted saying it’s important for committed volunteers to join the Be The Match Registry.
A second ABC News story featured a young MDS survivor, Jenna Langer. Like Roberts, Langer’s MDS was caused by previous rounds of chemotherapy. However, Langer did not have a match in her family. Langer’s doctors identified a matched marrow donor on the Be The Match Registry, and she received her transplant last year.
