Reporter Marvin Beach recently featured the story of transplant recipient Gabby Villarreal.
Gabby was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 13-years-old, and she was fortunate enough to have quickly found a bone marrow donor in her immediate family. Gabby was in remission for three years and then her cancer returned. This time, she needed a transplant from a donor on the Be The Match Registry. She found a match and has been receiving treatment for the last few months at Duke University. Gabby and her family are raising awareness about the need to grow the Be The Match Registry.
