Abbott Molecular, a producer of reagents used in the tissue typing process, has partnered with Be The Match Foundation^® for more than 10 years. Abbott has been a sponsor of the IMGT/HLA Database that is used by registries, typing labs, transplant centers and researchers throughout the world to determine HLA matches. Abbott has also been a sponsor of the annual National Marrow Donor Program^® Council Meeting. Abbott has conducted donor drives on behalf of Be The Match Registry^® with its employees. Of the employees added to the registry, 75% are from ethnically or racially diverse backgrounds. One of Abbott's employees was identified as a match for a young girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
