The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Council consists of individuals from participating donor centers, cord blood banks, transplant centers, apheresis centers, collection centers and recruitment groups. The role of the council is to provide a formal mechanism for input from members of the NMDP Network, to promote direct communications among the participants in the NMDP network and the NMDP board of directors and staff, as well as to provide input and support for NMDP policies and procedures.

Jennifer Saenz
Jennifer came to the NMDP in 1992 as a recruiter for the San Antonio Blood Bank. She has recruited thousands of individuals for the Registry, and received the Grant Hartley Diversity Award in 1995 for her work with Hispanic donors. Today she manages the centers at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, one of only nine programs in the country to have a donor, transplant, collection and apheresis center. A graduate of the journalism program at the University of Texas, she works to educate potential donors about the process, and retain committed donors through consistent communication.

Kimberly Anne Kasow, D.O.
Kimberly Kasow is director of Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation, medical director of Bone Marrow Collections, associate professor, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Department of Pediatrics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also serves as a Transplant Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement Officer. Kasow is a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only public comprehensive cancer center in North Carolina. She previously served as medical director of Bone Marrow Collections and transplant quality officer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee, where she was the 2008 recipient, Outstanding Physician of the Year.
Kasow was a Fellow, Division of Stem Cell Transplantation, Department of Hematology-Oncology; Department of Hematology-Oncology at St. Jude’s. She completed her pediatric residence at the Department of Pediatrics, Columbus Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
