The National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) started in 1987 with a registry of just 10,000 volunteer marrow donors. Today, more than 10 million people have joined the Be The Match Registry®, operated by the NMDP.
Partnerships with organizations like yours made this possible. From corporations to churches and colleges to community groups, our partners raise awareness about bone marrow donation and transplantation and recruit people to join the Be the Match Registry.
Through our partnerships, more people step forward, more funding becomes available to support critical outreach and more advances are made in the science of transplant.
Partnerships with corporations
Corporations are making it their priority to support innovative new initiatives at the NMDP — programs and resources to support patients and critical research efforts. And donors recruited through corporate partnerships are among the most committed donors in the world. The growing diversity of the U.S. work force helps us meet the needs of patients from diverse racial and ethnic communities — the patients least likely to find a matched donor today.
Local community outreach
Civic, community, college and university and faith-based organizations work closely with local Be The Match centers to reach people where they live and work. These local connections enable community members to be part of the global effort to save lives.
Your partnership with NMDP and Be The Match
When you partner with us, you provide your members a unique opportunity to engage in a program that saves lives. To learn how your corporation, faith-based community, student group or other organization can help us save lives, see Engage Your Organization.
